Transport plays a vital role in our society, and our communities have many transport needs. The ability to travel safely and reliably using all transport modes is a fundamental expectation of our citizens.
This Local Transport Strategy will shape the environment and lives of people living, working and visiting West Dunbartonshire. Without the engagement and close involvement of individuals, organisations and communities, no transport policies can be effective. The Council are consulting as widely as possible in the preparation of this Strategy and will continue to consult and involve our local communities on all aspects of transport planning and delivery to ensure that we are meeting the needs and aspirations of our citizens.
West Dunbartonshire's Local Transport Strategy sets out the Transport Vision and Objectives of the Council and will provide a three-year Action Plan for meeting local challenges and needs. This Consultation Draft has been prepared based on previous consultations and information from key stakeholders. We now seek the opinion of everyone living, working and visiting West Dunbartonshire.
If you wish to comment on this draft, or just to provide feedback on our transport needs, then please write to Angus Bodie, Manager of Roads, Garshake Road, Dumbarton, G82 3PU, fax to 01389 737637 or email me at heed@west-dunbarton.gov.uk.
The closing date for feedback is 24th December 2007.
