Probation & Parole

West Dunbartonshire Council run a compulsory educational programme for all those placed on probation by the courts or released on parole by prisons. Its aim is to reduce thier risk of re-offending by making them aware of the effects of their behaviour on their victims, the community, their families and themselves. It seeks to encourage individuals to look at alternate ways of behaving. It touches on a number of issues associated with offending, such as drug/alcohol use, and links individuals to other agencies for additions support and guidance.

On average an individual will attend 100 hours of educational sessions in a year. The sessions include:
