The Plan has been developed in partnership between West Dunbartonshire Council, NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, Strathclyde Police, Scottish Children's Reporter Administration and Voluntary Sector partners. It has taken account of the views of children, young people and their families. The Plan builds on West Dunbartonshire's two previous Children's Services Plans. The Plan draws on a range of local plans to ensure a more integrated approach to development of actions to achieve shared objectives. We firmly believe that integrated planning will deliver better, more integrated services which will lead to better outcomes for children and families.
The Integrated Children's Services Plan shows the commitment of the partners to providing a continuum of child centred, high quality services covering universal, preventative and targeted services. The Plan provides a coherent, single planning tool for all partners. It reflects West Dunbartonshire's endorsement of the Scottish Executive's vision that all children should be safe, nurtured, healthy, achieving, active, respected and responsible, included.
We are proud of our achievements in Children's Services, but there can be no room for complacency. The Plan reinforces the importance of every agency and member of staff working together to achieve better outcomes for children and young people. The Plan signposts the way forward to improve joint working and integrated services. Progress will be monitored through Annual Reviews of the Plan. On behalf of the Council we acknowledge the commitment and collaboration of our partner agencies in the production of the plan. Their support has been invaluable.
