1. Do you have to be a member to use the centres?
No you do not have to be a member to use most of our facilities although it will save you money if you intend to be a regular user. Cosmopolitan Health and Fitness Club membership allows you to pay on an annual or monthly basis and use the facilities as often as you like. Passport to Leisure membership gives you a discount on the activity price every time you use the facilities.
Q2. I would like to use the fitness suite. How do I get started?
All users of our fitness suites are required to complete a health check questionnaire and an induction session before using the Cosmopolitan Health and Fitness Club Fitness Suites. The induction session lasts approximately one hour during which time a qualified member of fitness staff guides you through the safe use of the fitness equipment. Staff will help you draw up an exercise programme and they will advise you of the best value for money membership option based on your personal circumstances, which facilities you plan to use and how often. Induction sessions are programmed throughout the week at each centre and must be booked in advance by customers.
Q3. Can I book activities in advance?
If you want to book into an exercise class, play squash or use an area of sports hall it is strongly recommended that you book in advance. Payment for bookings varies with the activity and should be confirmed when the booking is made.
Q4. What if I want to block book a facility or host an event?
You are required to complete the appropriate booking form, available from any of our facilities. Once received your booking request will be confirmed by the centre.
Q5. Do you take Switch, Visa or MasterCard?
At the Meadow Centre, Play Drome and the Vale of Leven Swimming Pool we accept Switch, Visa and MasterCard but not American Express - subject to a minimum of £5.00. All centres accept cheques with the appropriate cheque guarantee card.
Q6. Are there changing facilities?
All of our centres have changing areas suitable for both swimmers and those taking part in dry activities. The Meadow Centre, Play Drome and the Vale of Leven Pool all have a 'changing village' with individual changing cubicles. There are lockers in all changing areas which require a refundable 20p piece to operate.
Q7. Do you have equipment available for hire or sale?
All of our centres have a range of equipment which is available for hire or for sale. If you require equipment for an activity please ask about availability when booking or prior to visiting the centre.
Q8. Are your swimming pools open all of the time?
All of our pools have varied opening hours and programmes including teaching and club use. This means the pool may not be available to the public even though the centre is open. Each site has a published pool programme which is available from the centre. If you do not have a programme please check pool availability before visiting the centre.
Q9. Are there any rules regarding children swimming?
Children under 5 years of age are able to swim for free in any of our swimming pools. All children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children under one metre tall are not allowed to use the water slides at the Meadow Centre or Play Drome.
