What is a Fitness Assessment?
A fitness assessment measures your overall level of fitness and considers your lifestyle. During the assessment we will measure your height and weight, blood pressure, lung capacity and efficiency, body fat percentage, heart rate, stamina, strength and flexibility. We then compare your results with people of a similar age using a computer software programme.
A copy of these results will be available for you to take away at the end of the assessment. The assessment lasts approximately one hour and is taken by a fully qualified instructor in a private room at the club.
Why should I have an assessment?
Taking a fitness assessment is an excellent way to determine your level of fitness, particularly if you have not exercised regularly in the recent past. New members and users of Cosmopolitan Health and Fitness Club are recommended to have an assessment to assist our staff in recommending a suitable exercise regime and to prevent injury and illness.
By taking regular assessments you can measure the impact your exercise programme is having and gives the opportunity to talk to a member of staff detail about your programme and your goals.
Do I need to be fit?
You do not need to be fit to take an assessment, however you do have to be over 16 and in good health when taking an assessment. When booking an assessment you will be given a formal consent form that you will be required to complete and bring along to the assessment.
Where can I take an assessment?
You do not have to be a Cosmopolitan Health and Fitness Club member to take a fitness assessment. Assessments are available in the Clubs located at the Meadow Centre, Play Drome and Vale of Leven Swimming Pool. Bookings should be made at the appropriate reception area.
