This year's walking program has been expanded with many new guided and self guided walks, often using boats on the Loch as transport for part of the walk. One walk even leads you to the famous Charles Rennie Mackintosh Hill House where coffee, cake and an exclusive guided tour await you, and another allows you to learn to fly birds of prey as part of the experience.
We have been lucky for 2008 to secure Mark Beaumont, holder of the world record for the fastest circumnavigation of the globe by bicycle. Mark broke the record on February 15th 2008 after being on the road for 194 days and 17 hours. Hear about his epic 18,000 mile journey around the world at a lunchtime talk, on the historic paddle steamer 'Maid of the Loch'. If you can't make the talk why not join Mark afterwards on the 'cosybike' a fun seven seater bike!
A new initiative, the Loch Lomond 4Bs bike bus will also be running over the festival weekend running from Balloch to Tarbet.
