National Registration Scheme for Private Landlords
The Antisocial Behaviour Act of 2004 requires local authorities to establish and maintain a register of private landlords and letting agents. With effect from 30th April 2006, it will become an offence to own and let property without being registered with the appropriate local authority. This means that landlords and their agents will have to register with the Council if they let properties in West Dunbartonshire as well as giving a list of the addresses of all of the properties they let.
