On 1st June 2004 West Dunbartonshire Council launched its Publication Scheme, a new document that gives members of the public access to a wide range of information held by the authority.
The production of the Publication Scheme is the Council's first step to implementing the Freedom of Information (Scotland)Act 2002. We have sought to produce an informative,user-friendly document which meets the requirements of the Act, but also clearly demonstrates the Council's commitment to the principles of openness and transparency.
The publication scheme is divided into 12 categories (for example, Education & Learning, Leisure & Culture and Your Council) to help users find the information they need. The scheme also details the format that the information is available in, whether or not there will be a charge and who to contact to obtain the information.
