Law & Licensing

The Environmental Health Section is responsible for the enforcement and administration of a wide variety of licensing functions including:

 

 

  • Food Premises
  • Houses in Multiple Occupation
  • Animal Boarding Establishments
  • Riding Establishments
  • Pet Shops
  • Cinemas
  • Caravan Sites
  • National Registration Scheme for Private Landlords 

 

Licensing Board

The Section undertake inspections and provide quarterly reports to West Dunbartonshire Licensing Board on the condition of all licensed premises within the district with respect to food safety, health and safety, sanitary accommodation, furnishings and fittings, noise etc.

Civic Government (Scotland) Act

The Section provide and inspection and advisory services to Legal & Administration Services who administer licences in relation to:

 

  • street traders

  • market traders

  • public entertainment licences (i.e.events)

  • sunbeds

  • late hours catering licences

Life Events

All births, stillbirths, deaths and marriages (both civil and religious) occurring in Scotland must be recorded in registers. The Registrars for West Dunbartonshire maintain and preserve these registers in the local area. They also conduct all civil ceremonies .
