West Dunbartonshire Council, in partnership with SOLAS Insulation Ltd, are running an Energy Advice Project. This aims to help people to keep their homes warm and their fuel bills low.
This service is funded through Supporting People, and is available to both tenants and owners. In particular it is aimed at:
- elderly households;
- long-term sick/disabled households;
- households with young children;
- households on benefits or with a low income.
However, the service is available to any resident of the West Dunbartonshire area if they are struggling to pay their fuel bills or to keep their home warm.
The service offered by the Energy Advice Project provides face-to-face advice and freephone telephone support. A trained advisor visits clients in their own home, and offers tailored advice on such topics as:
- controlling your heating system; reducing your fuel bills;
- improving energy efficiency;
- eligibility for insulation and central heating grants.
This service is entirely FREE.
If you think that you could benefit from this service, or if you know of family/friends who could, and you/they live in the West Dunbartonshire Council area please phone SOLAS on FREEPHONE 0800 616 203 to arrange a visit from the Energy Advice Project. Any contact you have with the Energy Advice Project will be treated confidentially and your details will not be passed to anyone within the Council.
