Control and Investigation of Food & Water Borne Illnesses

 

Around 50 food poisoning notifications are dealt with annually.

  

The Section works in partnership with Consultants in Public Health Medicine in both Greater Glasgow and Argyll & Clyde NHS Boards in outbreak control situations and in the routine investigation and surveillance of food poisoning notifications.

 

Foodborne Bacteria

All food poisoning notifications requiring investigation by the relevant NHS Board are investigated within 2 working days. Urgent cases reported by the NHS Boards are given an immediate response.
