Sports Show 2010

After the success of last year’s Sports Show, West Dunbartonshire Council Sports Development Unit has organised this year’s Sports Show to take place on Saturday 6th March 2010. The purpose of the show is to promote and introduce as many of West Dunbartonshire’s residents to the benefits and enjoyment of adopting a healthy and sporting lifestyle. It provides an opportunity for local clubs and groups to showcase the services which they provide to the local community through information stalls and taster sports sessions.
Local sports clubs play a major part in the development of sport and in increasing participation levels in physical activity. At the Show last year over 40 clubs had an information stall or delivered sports sessions, and over one thousand residents attended.
The Show provides a great opportunity to highlight the huge variety of sporting opportunities that are available within the community. Last year local clubs gained new members and volunteers, which helps to ensure a great sporting future for West Dunbartonshire!
As well as the various sports that you can try out (judo, karate, bowling, rugby, tae kwon do, aikido, netball, badminton and football (the list goes on!)), there will also be a Gladiator Duel, face painting, competitions, and a quiz!
