The Education Resource Service (ERS) is a central library support service, which offers resources, advice and support to all Education establishments and personnel.

Collections:


Professional Development
This collection offers support materials on professional issues for teachers, nursery nurses, classroom assistants and advisers. We have a large collection of CPD books including those for the Scottish Qualification for Headship.

Topic Boxes:

We have over 800 topic boxes at 3 levels to support the Environmental studies curriculum. These are usually available for a term. There are many additional books, videos, posters and artefacts which can also be borrowed individually.

Artefact Boxes

A small collection of artefact boxes is available to enhance learning.

Early Stages Boxes

Themed boxes for the pre-school curriculum are available.

Learning development:

There is a large collection of puzzles, games and toys for special needs.

Fiction bus:
Our fiction bus visits primary schools approximately once per term with the latest reads for primary 4-7.

Meeting Room

We have a large room available for meetings. Multi media projector, television, video, flipchart and OHP can be requested. Tea/coffee and lunch are available from the school kitchen.

School libraries

We offer support and advice to primary schools on the selection, organisation and management of resources. This includes help with developing a library policy, editing and classifying resources, creating a library database and helping to develop a whole-school information skills.
