Health
Good health is paramount to the development and well-being of pupils and staff.
Pupils are encouraged to eat healthily, drink water to remain hydrated, eat fruit and become more active. Music is played at lunchtime to create an ambience of happiness and relaxation. We have actively sought to involve pupils, staff and parents in competitions, Taster Evenings, etc.
Weekly P.E. lessons and The Class Moves Calendars (Health Board) encourage and promote active learners.
Football and The Better Neighbourhood Services Fund operate after school to promote sports.
Study support
Netball and Expressive Arts give pupils more opportunities to be active and enjoy each others company. It also allows the pupils to interact with their Teachers / Learning Assistants on a different level and to act as positive role models.
We have implemented a Health Programme which recognises physical, social, emotional and mental well-being.
The charity "The Postive Steps" delivers Sex Education and is also involved in 'Education for Love'.
The 'Saint Mungo Religious and Moral Pack' material have also been implemented throughout the school.
In partnership with Strathclyde Police we are encompassing Citizenship and the Law which tackles Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco issues as well as racial discrimination.
