Promoting a Healthy School

Hungry For Success

At Highdykes we try to eat healthy meals at lunch time. There are new meals for us to try with lots of salads and fruit. At first it seemed a big change from hot dogs and burgers but everyone is realising that our new meals are much healthier and better for us. Here are some pictures taken in the dinner hall.

Active Schools

Scott Weston comes regularly to Highdykes to promote games and activities for

our pupils. Primary 6 and 7 children have been trained to teach the younger children how to play some games and join in the activities in the playground. We are very proud of the seniors who work really hard to ensure the younger children have great fun and keep active and fit at playtimes.

Handwashing Competition
Primary 1-5 are taking part in a handwashing competition. They are learning about the dangers of do not washing your hands properly and how germs can spread. They are going to make posters, draw pictures, make up songs and many other things as part of the competition.
