Introduction
The West Dunbartonshire Council Outdoor Education service is based in the 200-acre Balloch Castle Country Park. Nestling on the shores of Loch Lomond we are in the heart of Scotland's first national park. With woodlands, mountains and water right on our doorstep we have the perfect setting to experience, explore and enjoy a variety of adventure sports and activities.
Outdoor Education Outdoor education can be a challenging and exciting way in which to develop new skills and learning. Planning, decision making, problem solving and teamwork can all take on a new dimension. Our activities and challenges are geared towards developing:
- Successful learners
- Responsible leaders
- Confident individuals
- Effective contributors
Safety Here at WDC OES safety is paramount. Whatever you choose to do we want you to enjoy this very special Scottish landscape safely. All activities are therefore routinely risk assessed, follow standard operating procedures, National Governing Body guidelines (NGB) and the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) recommendations
