West Dunbartonshire is one of the few authorities in Scotland to retain the services of its own Instrumental Repairer, Mr Andrew Burnley.
Mr Burnley was appointed to the IMS in September 2004 and has in that time proved a valuable asset to the authority.
Instruments owned by the Council and allocated to schools are overhauled and maintained on a regular basis allowing our pupils minimum disruption to their practising should an accident occur or a problem arise.
The services of the repairer, based in Clydebank High, are also available to those pupils who own their own instruments.
There are three steps to accessing this service:
Step 1 A written estimate is given to the client after assessment of the instrument.
Step 2 Estimate is accepted by the client and a cheque returned to cover cost of repair.
Step 3 Instrument is repaired and returned to client.
Mr Burnley also has extensive knowledge of all woodwind, string and brass instruments and is happy to offer guidance to parents for those thinking of purchasing an instrument for their child.
Further details and all enquiries about repairs and instruments should be directed to
Mr Andrew Burnley.
