There are 21 Council Early Education and Childcare Centres providing 3 and 4 year olds with a part time nursery place and the opportunity to purchase additional childcare, depending on spare capacity. 7 of these centres can cater for children under 3 years and 5 provide Out of School Care for primary age children.
"Children in Need" and those whose parents are in need of respite due to stresses in their lives can access daycare in these centres. All Early Education and Childcare Centres have the potential to offer daycare / childcare over an extended day and year in response to need and demand.
Leaflet on Admissions to Centres
All our centres are non-denominational and co-educational. We respect and welcome children and parents of all religions, faiths and beliefs.
There is a mobile creche service which provides flexible childcare for children aged 0 - 14 years in community venues. This allows parents to access learning opportunities and self-help groups.
In some circumstances daycare places can be commissioned with specially selected registered childminders who are linked to some centres.
