Kilpatrick Early Years Service (K.E.Y.S.)
Kilpatrick Early Years Service is for children with significant additional support needs. It is based in Kilpatrick School.
The service provides:
-
Sessions in K.E.Y.S. for children who require specific care for significant additional support needs and barriers to development that cannot be met in an Early Education and Childcare Centre;
-
Outreach home link for children under 3 with identified additional support needs who are not yet ready for placement in any Early Education and Childcare Centre;
-
Outreach support to Early Education and Childcare Centres for children under 3, with additional support needs who have a placement;
-
KEYS Club - a drop-in facility for parents / carers and children under 3 with identified needs;
Children are referred from the Community Child Health Services to the Educational Services via Psychological Services. A Pre-SCAT (Pre-School Assessment Team) meeting is convened and attended by parents and appropriate professionals to discuss the needs of and appropriate provision for each child.
K.E.Y.S. staff work collaboratively with parents / carers and professionals, including the Educational Psychologist, who are involved in a child's development and welfare.
If you require any documents in any other language or Braille, please contact the Centre.
