Widening opportunities for women and girls to take part and compete in sport is a key priority for sport
scotland and a fundamental area for Active Schools to develop. In targeting and encouraging more girls to get involved in sport and physical activity, sports like netball are making a valuable contribution to girls activity levels.
Netball is widely taught within the primary school sector, as a curricular and extra–curricular activity. Mini netball was devised by Netball Scotland to help teachers introduce the game of netball into the school environment and is specially designed to align the game to meet with the psychological and physical capabilities of young girls and boys.
