Provost Agnew said: "Panel members who volunteer to help our most vulnerable children and their families are to be commended for their dedication and commitment. Over the years panel members have helped numerous young people through difficult periods in their lives.
He continued, "This evening is just a small gesture on behalf of the Council to thank the members and to also acknowledge the time they spend away from their own families does not go unnoticed.
Volunteers do not require special qualifications to sit on their local Children’s Panel, what is needed is the ability to listen to all sides and make difficult decisions before helping children. If you live or work in West Dunbartonshire, you could put your spare time to good use and make a real difference to a child’s life in your community.
