Review of Scottish Parliament Constituencies

The Boundary Commission for Scotland has now published its provisional proposals for new Scottish Parliament Constituency boundaries.

 

For West Dunbartonshire, the Commission has proposed two constituencies, both in the West of Scotland Region:

1) Dumbarton and Helensburgh, which would be made up of 4 wards of West Dunbartonshire Council, namely:-

Ward 1-Lomond, Ward 2-Leven,  Ward 3-Dumbarton, Ward 4-Kilpatrick

and wards 10 and 11of Argyll and Bute Council, covering the Helensburgh area

2) North Renfrewshire and Clydebank, which would be made up of 2 wards of West Dunbartonshire Council, namely:-

Ward 5-Clydebank Central, Ward 6-Clydebank Waterfront

and an area of Renfrewshire Council including Bishopton, Erskine and part of Renfrew.

Full details of the proposals can be obtained from the website of the Boundary Commission at www.bcomm-scotland.gov.uk.  Information and plans are also available for consultation at West Dunbartonshire Council offices at Garshake Road, Dumbarton and Rosebery Place, Clydebank and at the main libraries in Strathleven Place, Dumbarton and Dumbarton Road Clydebank.

 

Representations on the proposals must be made to the Commission not later than 14 March 2008.


 

Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places

Update

The Review of Polling Districts and Places carried out by the Council in terms of Section 16 of the Electoral Administration Act 2006 is now complete and was approved by Council on 31 October 2007.
