Community Service

The Community Service scheme in West Dunbartonshire provides constructive work opportunities for offenders, focussing on those individuals and groups deemed most in need, within the local community.

Offenders are expected to:

  • Attend Regularly as instructed.
  • Carry out work to an acceptable standard.
  • Comply with the instructions of their placement supervisor.
  • Conduct themselves in an appropriate manner

 

Offenders undergo an induction interview within 7 days of an order being made.

Absences are followed up within one working day.

A maximum of two written warnings are issued in respect of non-compliance.

A range of supervised community service placements is available to accommodate offenders with a variety of skills and abilities.

Suitable placements are available for offenders. 'Light Duties' placements are available to offenders experiencing health problems.
