WDC Draft Community Engagement Strategy - Consultation

The Council is developing its Community Engagement Strategy which will incorporate “Involving Communities”, WDC’s Decentralisation Scheme.

The aims of the Strategy are “To support and enable all communities to have meaningful participation in shaping the policies which affect them and services which they use, and work together with communities to improve the quality of life in West Dunbartonshire.”

During May and June, you are invited to comment on the draft Strategy and all information gathered will be considered in drawing up the final Strategy.

The draft Strategy has also gone for comment and feedback to WDC’s Community Participation Committee and to the Community Planning Board.  It will also be subject to consultation with appropriate officers and elected members.

It is also proposed to run a short group session of 8 -10 community members early in June to discuss views on the Strategy.  If you would like to be involved,  please contact Anne Clegg, Policy Unit on 01389 737177.  Expenses will be covered.

What can I do next?

Alternatively you can get a copy with the feedback proforma direct from the Policy Unit – telephone 01389 737177 or e-mail policy.unit@west-dunbarton.gov.uk.
