The consultation period for the Plan extends to 10 weeks and therefore all objections and representations should be lodged with the Council by 4:00pm Friday 16 November 2007 unless otherwise agreed by the Council.
The West Dunbartonshire Local Plan will provide the local planning framework for the Council area (excluding that part which is located within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park). The Plan outlines where and what type of new development is suitable throughout the Plan area and will guide development and investment decisions until 2012. All representations received as a result of this consultation will be considered by the Council, and may result in modifications being made to the Plan. Should your objections remained unresolved you will be given an opportunity to present your objections to a Reporter appointed from the Scottish Government, Directorate for Planning and Environmental Appeals at a subsequent Public Local Inquiry.
Copies of the Local Plan are available for inspection in all Council libraries and the Council Offices in Clydebank and Dumbarton. Copies of the Plan are also available from:

The Council has also prepared a Statement of Publicity & Consultation Report, which outlines the Council's response to the representations that were made to the Consultative Draft Plan and also a Landscape Assessment of the Green Belt, which was used to inform the Council's position on the Green Belt as part of the Local Plan process and is available on request.
