WDC commissioned architects Page and Park to produce a vision for Dumbarton waterfront in February 2003. This was adopted by the Council in March 2004, as supplementary planning guidance, to ensure that development proposals around the town's waterfront integrate with one another, provide links between the Castle and the town centre and take advantage of the waterfront setting and views to
the historic Dumbarton Rock.
