The West Dunbartonshire Core Paths Plan is likely to be subject to a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), which is a requirement of the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005, A SEA provides a systematic process of identifying, predicting, reporting and mitigating the environmental impacts of any proposed plans or programmes.

SEA Screening
Screening is the first stage of the SEA and determines the potential for any significant environmental impact of the Core Paths Plan. The Screening Report has been carried out and responses received from the 3 statutory Consultation Authorities – Scottish Natural Heritage, Scottish Environmental Agency and Historic Scotland.
