The Colourists Exhibition
March 1st - May 31st 2008 at Clydebank Museum.
Clydebank Museum will be hosting a fascinating new exhibition featuring the work of the Scottish Colourists. The Scottish Colourists were a group of four painters from Scotland who came to have a major impact and influence on contemporary Scottish Art in the 20th century.
Including works by all four painters - George Leslie Hunter, Francis Boileau Cadell, Samuel John Peploe and John Duncan Fergusson and featuring paintings and drawings from the West Dunbartonshire Museum Collection and the Lillie Art Gallery. This will be a wonderful opportunity to view a range of work by formative Scottish Artists not seen in West Dunbartonshire before. To augment the exhibition with a view to showing the influence of these painters there will be works by contemporary Scottish Colourists featuring work by John Lowrie Morrison.
