The Ship Room
Clydebank Museum tells the story of a town that became world famous for building ships like the HMS Vanguard, the passenger liner QE2, and the Royal Yacht Britannia. By 1899, John Brown Shipyards employed over 2,000 people, dominating the town, and launching ships such as the Lusitania which, at the time (1907), was the largest in the world. The Ship Model Room gives visitors to the museum the chance to experience what life was like in the shipyard for the men and women who worked there.
