Although the Burgh of Clydebank as we know it had it's beginnings in the industries of shipbuilding and the Singer Sewing Machine Co in the late 19th Century, the surrounding areas of Clydebank were inhabited for thousands of years. This exhibition presents an overview of the history of the area covering topics from the neolithic cup and ring marked rocks at Auchencraig to the present day. The exhibition will include a large selection of photographs from the local studies department and a variety of artefacts from the West Dunbartonshire museum collection relating to Clydebank and the surrounding area.
