Gill Graham, Section Head: Culture, congratulated all staff involved with the exhibition and accompanying events, and thanked those who had contributed. She added, "We wanted to examine the huge impact of the Victorian era on the lives of the people of Clydebank, Dumbarton and the Vale of Leven. It is people who are at its centre, the contrast between those who have, and those who have not, the people who helped build great industries, and who helped shape our cultural identity."
A principal aim of the exhibition is to relate the Victorian era to those living in West Dunbartonshire where visitors will discover how their grandparents and great-grandparents lived during this dynamic period in history.
Bustles, Britannia & Big Ideas: Living in the Victorian Era is exhibited at Clydebank Museum from 1 August 2007 to 31 January 2008.
